Seroprevalence study of the EAP Sardenya

Monitoring seroprevalence to determine community immunity

Research description:

  • Title: “Seroprevalence against COVID-19 and follow-up of suspected cases in primary health care in Spain”
  • Principal Investigator: Carles Brotons
  • Co-Investigators: Jordi Serrano, Jaume Sellarès
  • Centers where the study will be implemented: EAP Sardenya

Objectives of the research:

Principal Objective: We aim to measure the seroprevalence of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 infection in a community sample of asymptomatic individuals and among symptomatic patients (without a confirmed diagnosis) followed in primary health care.

Secondary Objective: As a secondary objective, we estimated the proportions of symptomatic patients seen at an emergency department (ED), hospitalized or dying, and identified the most important clinical symptoms associated with a positive infection.
